Richard and Denise Kelly heard about Deer Creek Camp through a family at Midland Classical Academy who invited them to a Bear Jamboree. They signed up their twin sons, Clayton and Garret, in 2012 and that summer became an Ambassador Family. “We loved the values Deer Creek taught our kids and we want to share this great opportunity with other families,” Denise said.
The Kelly’s had a camp party to showcase the summer that following January. Dozens of their closest friends were invited to their home for pizza and we provided games as well as information about camp. The party was great but the Kelly’s did not see the fruits of their labor until 2014.
That summer we welcomed 5 new campers from the Kelly’s sphere of influence. One of the new camp families, The Berridge’s, hosted their own get-together just last month and recruited more campers.
Sometimes the most you can do is plant the seed and let God take care of the rest. “And He will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous.” Isaiah 30:23
