Probably one of the most important rules and CORE values at Deer Creek Camp is “I’m 3rd”. This CORE value is one that the campers know very well. It means we put God first, the other guy second, and ourselves third. Being “third” is more than just picking up someone else’s plate at dinner, it is having an attitude of a servant not expecting recognition or praise but just serving with a humble heart. These incredible campers are able to serve one another at meals, in the cabin, and throughout the day in activities. It is important for us all to remember to serve one another. Christ called us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and to love our neighbor as our self. When we do these things we are truly living our lives for Him. He has told us that these 2 are the greatest commandments. If we do not love the Lord, how can we properly love each other? How are you being “third”?
