“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful” (Colossians 3:12-15). Be thankful. How many times do we take our life and the things that God has blessed us with for granted? God has blessed us with community with one another. We are called to forgive each other, learn from each other, and grow together in love. Love is the thing that binds everything together. Even God spoke the words that love is the greatest commandment we can follow, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul and love your neighbor as yourself. Love is the greatest commandment, therefore we should not take it for granted. What things in your life are you taking for granted? Where is your heart focused today?
