Who’s Leading You?

In Matthew 16:23 Christ says to Peter, “‘Get behind me, Satan!  You are a hindrance to me.  For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.'”  How many times do we try to tell God that He’s wrong?  How many times do we just want to lead our own lives instead of letting Him take the lead?  We know that He has the perfect plan for our lives, so why is it so hard to stand behind Him?  If we stand behind the Lord, we are following after Christ.  It is so easy for us to think that we can do everything ourselves because this world offers so many conveniences.  When you have all the amenities that life has to offer, why wouldn’t you think that you could do everything yourself?  Sometimes we forget that everything we have is because God has allowed us to have it.  He is bigger than we can even imagine and we know that without Him our lives would be full of everything “the world” has to offer, but eventually we would be taken over by greed and selfishness leaving us broken with a heart like stone.  We have a choice to make.  We can either let the Lord take the lead in our lives and follow hard after Him, or we can tell God He is wrong and put Him behind us.  What choice will you make?
