Who Stole The River?!

What a beautiful and eventful day it was at camp! The sun was shining and the clouds cast enough shadows to keep camp cool with a little rain. The theme of the day was Flash Mob so we really enjoyed seeing everyone bust a move. In Bible Study we learned what sin is (Self Indulgent Nature).

At Jump Start Chloe Sutton taught us that Attitude is Contagious and predictor of your performance. She explained how having a good attitude when competing in her swim races helped her succeed.

In Bear Comp, all tribes played their hearts out and exuded tribe spirit. Pin Pounder is our new Bear Comp games this summer. Everyone had a blast! Then it was off to Specialties!

The photography lesson today was still life. They learned how to take photos of still objects before moving on to action photos. Woodshop progressed further on their bathouses.

For Activity rotation Trinity’s Treehouse and Telluride Trail worked together at the GAP Wall. Sarita Casita, Ladies Lodge, and Kimmy’s Kabin did the Team Swing together before heading to the river with the rest of Girls Camp. Boy’s Camp had swim time at the pool where they had a blast wrestling, throwing balls, and jumping off the diving board.

After shower time we got ready to go Beyond the Board. Dressed as Sorry pieces, Chess pieces, and Mario characters, campers poured into the Great Hall to enjoy another one of Alma’s specialties, KING RANCH CHICKEN!! After dinner we were informed that someone had stolen the river! Mrs. Pacman, Link, and a couple characters from Super Smash Bros. appeared in life size and claimed they were no in control! We had to play life size versions of checkers, foozball, hungry hungry hippos, Battleship, and Duck Hunter in order to collect clues to figure out which character stole the river! Once we identified the culprit we danced the night away in the Barn Swing…or at least until Team Meeting.

Papa Bear delved deeper into the meaning of sin tonight at Team Meeting. He emphasized the word “indulgence”. When we sin, we indulge ourselves in wrong decisions. It’s like we stuck our hands in black paint and every time we sinned or encouraged a friend to sin, the black paint spread. We indulged our hands in that black paint. But there is hope. There is one person that can clean us of that black paint – of our sins. We will find out who that is and how he does that tomorrow.
