Behind every adventure is a team ready for the day.

Prepared & Present

At Deer Creek, preparation begins long before campers arrive. Our team trains, reviews protocols, and has clear plans in place for staff care, medical needs, weather events, and emergency situations.‍

During camp, our leaders stay present and aware—supervising closely and responding quickly when needed. It’s one way we honor the trust parents place in us and help campers step fully into the adventure of summer camp.

Staff & Counselors

The people leading camp shape the experience of every camper. That’s why each staff member is carefully selected, screened, and trained before campers arrive.

From child protection training to activity-specific certifications, our team is prepared for more than the schedule. Counselors are trained to supervise well, respond calmly, and help campers feel known, supported, and safe.

Natural Disasters

Being outdoors is part of what makes Deer Creek special. Our team keeps a close eye on the weather throughout each camp day and in the days ahead.

From clearly marked routes to elevated safe zones, our plans help leaders stay aware, act early, and guide campers with confidence when conditions require it.

Medical Emergencies

When medical needs come up, our team knows how to respond and who to call on.

Trained staff and camp leadership follow established protocols for both routine health concerns and more urgent situations. Our team is prepared to communicate clearly, respond quickly, and coordinate with emergency services when needed — always keeping the camper’s wellbeing as the priority.
